Hotel Scandinavia is a 16th century Venetian palazzo located 500 metres from the famous Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco. The 33 guestrooms are decorated in a sumptuous 18th century Venetian style with period furnishings and Murano glass lamps. All rooms open onto balconies, and include air conditioning, minibars, hair dryers, direct dial phones, and satellite television.
Guests can start their day with a continental breakfast before setting out to explore Venice and after a day's sightseeing can relax in the sitting room amidst Venetian antiques and glass ornaments. There is a concierge and safe deposit box along with secretarial services for those with business needs. Multilingual staff are on hand at the 24 hour front desk to help guests get the most out of the city. The hotel is superbly located for the many sights of Venice including the Church of Santa Maria Formosa, Basilica di San Marco and the Grand Canal, all within 500 metres. Venice is best explored on foot or by vaporetto; water taxis are available but can be expensive. From Santa Lucia train station, guests can take the vaporetto to the hotel. Venice Marco Polo Airport is eight kilometres away with an approximate driving time of 20 minutes.

The Alilaguna motor boat runs to San Zaccaria (Piazza San Marco) and guests can walk to the hotel from there. Alternatively, private water taxis run to directly alongside the hotel in Rio di Santa Maria Formosa. The average fare is about 85 EUR; it is advisable to agree the price before departure. Another option is to take the Venezia ATVO bus to Piazzale Roma, then take vaporetto numbers 1 or 82 to the Rialto stop. Guests arriving by car can park at Tronchetto or Piazzale Rome and reach the hotel by vaporetto.
